Episode Recap

John is sharing a drink with Teyla as they share a quiet moment together. She thanks him, knowing that she knew he’d always come for him, and rescued her from Michael. However, he doesn’t remember rescuing her. Then Lt. Ford appears, saying that John never rescued him, either. John sees blood on his side, and… wakes up. Ronon wakes him up and explains that Michael’s compound collapsed on them. Ronon removes a piece of metal from John’s side and says they’re separated from the rest of the team. Elsewhere in the rubble, McKay and Lorne are trapped and the major is injured. Lorne figures the Daedalus should be there in three hours and McKay should calm down so he doesn’t bring the rubble down on them.

Aboard his Wraith cruiser, Michael receives a transmission and sets a new course for the compound.

On Atlantis, Lt. Edison returns for the compound, having survived the explosion. He reports to Sam, who has Keller prepare an away team to go back and provide aid.

Going through the debris, McKay manages to access Michael’s database although Lorne is less than thrilled. They’re interrupted by footsteps above, and they start yelling for help. Sam and Keller hear them McKay explains that Michael received a signal when the self-destruct was activated. Sam puts a jumper in orbit to keep an eye out for Michael’s ship while the team starts digging up McKay and Lorne.

Sheppard tells Ronon to dig to the surface but Ronon refuses and starts to free him so they can get out together.

Michael examines the pregnant Teyla and notes that her son should be appearing any day. He assures her he won’t harm the child, but doesn’t give her any assurances concerning herself. Michael orders Kanaan to free her and Teyla pleads with him that Michael will kill them all, but they’re interrupted before she can get anywhere with him.

Sam gets Lorne and McKay free but she warns Ronon and Sheppard are buried further down. Michael’s ship enters orbit and detects the Atlantis team’s life signs, and he realizes they’re searching for survivors. Sam orders an evacuation to the cloaked Puddle Jumper as a Wraith Dart flies overhead. A soldier brings it down but Michael dials in the gate to prevent escape and sends soldiers down. Michael orders his men to search faster while the Puddle Jumper goes into orbit and approaches the cruiser. They realize that Teyla is on board but have no way to locate her within the vast ship.

Ronon is still trying to free Sheppard without success when they hear the sounds of digging above. They call for help and get a response.

Caldwell arrives with the Daedalus and Michael’s cruiser opens fire. They fail to penetrate the Daedalus shields and Michael orders them out of orbit, leaving the Darts behind. Caldwell opens fire, disabling Michael’s hyperdrive before he can escape, and the two ships open fire.

Sheppard and Ronon realize the people digging down to them are Michael’s hybrids and prepare to shoot them down when the team breaks through.

The Daedalus</I> detects Ronon and Sheppard, but can’t beam them up without dropping shields. Caldwell reluctantly gives the command while the Puddle Jumper comes onboard at the same time. The Daedalus takes heavy damage but gets everyone on board. In the infirmary, Sheppard insists that Keller get him back on his feet so he doesn’t lose another teammate.

Sam and McKay get some of the systems back online and Sheppard and Ronon meet with them and come up with an idea to rescue Teyla. Sam tells Caldwell they’re going to launch a 302 attack. Michael’s cruiser will respond by launching Darts, and they’ll slip a team inside on a cloaked Jumper. With time running out, Caldwell agrees. Sam wonders if Sheppard is in fit condition to go on the mission, but he insists no going no matter what.

Sheppard, McKay, and Ronon get into the launch bay of Michael’s cruiser, while the 302s take out the cruisers main weapons, buying them time. Sheppard’s team slips through the corridors, but McKay determines that they only have 15 minutes until Michael gets his hyperdrive back on line. They follow Teyla’s life signals and find her… just as she goes into labor. The hyperdrive starts to power up and McKay advises Sheppard and Ronon to damage the drives with explosives. They leave, putting McKay in charge. Teyla starts delivering as a nervous McKay tries to help.

Sheppard and Ronon get to the hyperdrive and attach the explosives, and then head back to Teyla and trigger the charge. Michael realizes someone is onboard and orders a search. Meanwhile, a reluctant McKay has no choice but to help Teyla successfully deliver the baby. Sheppard and Ronon arrive and they head for the Jumper, only to discover someone has taken it. They head for a data terminal so McKay can scramble the cloaking fields, and run into Kanaan, the baby’s father. Teyla appeals to him for help and he offers to lead them to safety. They agree to follow him… after taking his weapon.

The Daedalus</I> detects a Dart trying to escape them. Sheppard provides the correct ID code: he’s piloting the Dart while holding the baby, while the others are in Wraith teleport storage. Caldwell orders the destruction of Michael’s cruiser while Sheppard heads to the planet to get to the gate and return to Atlantis.

In the hallway, McKay is on his way to visit Teyla when he meets Sam, who informs him she’s returning to Earth for a debriefing and evaluation. Sheppard and Teyla are recuperating in the Atlantis infirmary and Keller prepares to take Sheppard into surgery. Teyla assures him that she’ll be naming her boy Torren John Emmagan, after her father and John.

Back on Earth, Woolsey meets Sam and informs her that someone with a different skill set will be leading the Atlantis expedition: she’s being removed from command and he’ll be taking over.
