Doctor Elizabeth Weir, played by Torri Higginson
A skilled ambassador and negotiator, Doctor Elizabeth Weir was first introduced in Stargate SG-1's seventh season finale, replacing General Hammond as head of the SGC so that the Stargate Project would have a friendly face when it went public. However, she was later replaced by General O'Neill when she was assigned to the Ancient Outpost in Antarctica. Now she leads the Atlantis mission, leaving behind a dog and now ex-boyfriend. Seriously injured at the end of Season Three, she was saved only by the addition of replicator component prosthetics to her body. Like a number of Rodney McKay ideas, this one did not unfold precisely as planned, and the long term consequences remain unrevealed as of the end of season four. |
