Episode Notes |
| |
This episode, along with the ST:TNG episode In the The Inner Light (05x25), is one of the highest rated episodes on the official Star Trek site. | Quark quotes Captain Sisko the ninety-eighth Ferengi Rule of Acquisition: "Every man has his price." This also represents a deeper component/theme in this episode than mere financial reward, as well. The price Sisko pays -- his personal integrity -- is, in Garack's closing soliloquy, "a bargain" | The original draft for this episode was titled "Patriot". The earlier version featured Jake learning about what his father did and the episode is viewed through his eyes. | During the faked meeting between Weyoun and Damar, on the back wall the seals of the Cardassian Union and the Dominion can be seen. The Cardassian Union Seal is on the left and the Dominion Seal is on the right. More information and the Cardassian and Dominion seals can be found here and here respectively. |

Continuity
At the beginning of the episode, after Sisko asks the computer for the date, he looks straight ahead with his mouth closed. In the next shot, just after the computer gives him the Stardate, his head is turned slightly to the right and his mouth is shown slightly ajar. |
