Clark’s Kryptonian heritage took over the main plotline for the second season, which featured the disembodied spirit/will of Clark's father, Jor-El, being introduced. But, most well-noted out of the entire season would have to be the appearance of the former Superman, Christopher Reeve, appearing as Dr. Virgil Swann. Swann’s role in the series was to tell Clark about his Kryptonian heritage.
