Was anyone else disappointed with Pete Ross' comeback?
When I read the summary I thought Pete felt bad for abandoning Clark and he would try make up for it. Instead they destroy his character even more by having him blame all his problems on Clark. What was the point of bring him back if they weren't going to have his character grow. At least Clark and Pete left on better terms. Why do the creators hate Pete? |

I don't think the creators hate Pete, although I do think his comeback could have been a lot better. |

Hate is a bit strong but they don't love Pete as much as they do Lana because she just won't stay out of his life. Pete acted a jerk the entire episode sure he was a little jealous of Clark but he always proved to be a good friend. All of the past episodes that showed Pete's jealousy of Clark never once made me dislike Pete in fact I could actually see his point, but blaming his roadie life on Clark come on I think Pete had more balls than that. I actually that Clark shouldn't have forgiven at the end of the episode. I made peace when Pete was written off the series and that he wasn't going to be part of Clark's life anymore(While else do they never mention him) .
When they said he was coming back in season 7 I got really excited that one of my favorite characters was coming back even if was just one episode. I thought he was going to try and reconnect with Clark and try to rekindle their friendship. This episode he just further alienated Clark I can't really ever seeing them being close. I know Clark and Pete don't really stay close in the comics but Smallville has proven it doesn't fellow the comics, I was hoping for them keep in contact, I guess they promised they would this time. |
