Jodi Melville is overweight and unhappy about it. To lose weight she concocts a thick drink containing nutritious vegetables - vegetables grown in the meteor rich soil around the family home. Lex discovers he has an elevated white cell count and wonders about the effect of the meteors on his health, finally hiring a discredited mineralogist to investigate them.

Pete Has a Serious Migraine
Pete actually has a concussion, the headache (and other symptoms) caused by a blow to the head. Generally speaking, any blow to the head that causes unconsciousness causes a concussion. A migraine is a specific sort of headache and is normally not caused by a blow to the head.

Laura Potter's Speech
An article visible when Lex peruses the Smallville Torch refers to the speech Laura Potter gave at graduation. Lana investigated this speech and Chloe recovered a recording of it for Lana in an earlier episode, “X-Ray.”
| Friends at the Inquistor
Lex undoubtedly refers here to reporter Roger Nixon, whom Lex keeps on a short leash with blackmail threats. Nixon’s own misdeeds in “X-Ray” put him at odds with Lex, who took control of the relationship and forced concessions from the newsman. Nixon is likely also who dug up dirt on Dr. Hamilton at Lex's request.

Whitney’s Tryout with Kansas State
We are meant to assume that Lex arranged for Whitney to be called to Kansas State the day of Lana’s party, presumably to clear the field for his friend Clark. Perhaps a large cash donation to the school convinced the athletic department to favor Whitney’s bid for the team over the candidate who dropped out, and may even explain why Whitney had to tryout on the Saturday of Lana’s party.
