Cultural References

Film Preview: Enter the Rodent.

There is a preview for Enter the Rodent shown at the theatre, which is a parody of Brue Lee's Enter the Dragon (1973) martial-arts spectacular flick.

Film: The Cute Little Poots

Nobody has any idea what the "Little Poots" are, but you have to love them because they are cute. This is the exact same scenario as The Care Bears, and a bunch of other animated characters that were around during the 1980s, being cartoons based on toys, supposedly a marketing concept according to the creative teams of shows like Rocko's Modern Life.

Film Preview: Dracula

In Popcorn Pandemonium, one of the movie previews shown in the theater is about a dead Dracula with the announcer quoting something like, "Dracula...It's been done to death." This must be in reference to all the movies, tv shows, and the like that have been made about Dracula and how cliched the character and all vampire concepts have become.

Film Preview: Garbage Strike

In Popcorn Pandemonium, the Garbage Strike movie with garbagemen on strike is a parody of the 1992 bomb of a movie Newsies, a Disney musical about 1890s paperboys on strike after the price the paperboys have to pay for the newspapers are raised.
