Former vice-presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin hosts this series of specials, which, according to Fox News, highlights "real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape." The first episode includes the stories of the "warrior spirit" of ordinary Americans, such as: a wealthy stock broker who financially helped underprivileged students attend college; a Marine-Medal-of-Honor recipient who gave his life to save the lives of others; a family with a son who has cerebral palsy. In the first episode, Palin planned to introduce an "In Their Own Words" segment with previously-recorded interviews with celebs, such as country-star Toby Keith and rapper LL Cool J. LL Cool J's interview was cut from the program because of his complaint best described by his tweet: "Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show.
