Pretty good premiere. I think moving the storyline towards hunting down The Company will be a good move. Sucks that Whistler had to be offed in the first few minutes, but at least Gretchen is still alive. She's a good villain.
They worked Sara back in nicely. It was good to have her back. Watching her cope with the torture was heart-breaking.
I didn't like the whole very brief mention of Sona burning down. Seemed like a convenient way of working their way out of that storyline. I'm kind of bummed we didn't get to see how Sucre got out.
Any ideas as to why Michael's nose was bleeding? My guess is he has some sort of brain issue. |

That big scary black guy killed Gretchen I thought (or as I still like to think of her, Susan B Anthony)...
I loved the question asked of T-bag: "Did you eat some bad Mexican?"
The thing with Sona burning down was weak, you're right. I'll bet Bellick cried like a school girl the whole time. I am still awed that the writers were able to take such a brute and turn him into a little mamas boy wimp.
I thought the opening was a little weak. Poorly written dialog between Gretchen and Michael and Whistler.
And was that depiction of Sara tied up a flash back?
I hope Michael's head is okay.
As I said this time last season, I'm still hoping that Kellerman decides to come back. |

Just finished 4x01 and I must say it felt more like a hastily put-together trailer than a real "episode" - it´s like they crammed the material of several episodes into 10 minutes - within the first 15 mins people die and resurface and u feel nauseous, you have no time to adapt to the new circumstances, the characters look like puppets and I feel they lost their credibility.
And there is something else seriously different about the start of this 4th season: the typical "PB atmosphere" is missing - can´t tell if is the the fault of a new director/editor/author, whoever is responsible for this disaster should be fired.
I´ll be watching 4x02 tomorrow and I hope that episode will be more "familiar" quality-wise to what we are used to...

She was alive there at the end, all beat up and scary looking. No doubt she'll get free and track down Michael.

I loved when his mom drove up to pick him and Sucre up. |

That was supposed to be Susan tied up? I guess I missed it then, because I thought I was seeing a flash back of Sara.
His mommy came to rescue him. |

Gretchen did look like Sara in that last shot. The only thing that gave it away for me was the dark hair.
I must say I didn't like last season very much, but I'm liking the way this one is looking so far. I enjoyed both episodes. Gretchen gets on my nerves, so I wish she would have been killed. Whistler's death surprised me. Michael's tattoo removal made me laugh -- yeah, I'm sure it's that easy to get such a large tattoo lasered off in a day. Remember Ted's tramp stamp on HIMYM? Ten sessions to get rid of that little butterfly. Also, Michael got released on bail? Really? And of course there's the convenience of Sona burning down. But whatever, this show requires a lot of overlooking nitpicks and contrived plot points, which I will gladly do as long as I'm being entertained. I will miss the tattoo, though, as well as the opening credits.

LOL. Gotta love the tramp stamp.
heck, if some government guy can create a device that downloads everything near it, I'm sure they've put someone to work to invent a better tattoo removal system. |

LMAO, good point. I hope the writers know that I now expect many gratuitous shots of Michael without a shirt on. |

So far I like last season more than this season, actually. I guess because there were so many questions at the start of last season that it was fun to figure them out.
Gretchen's just a b***h. When that scary black guy (I wish he had a name) held the gun up to her face, I didn't feel anything really. When Bill Kim got his I was cheering. Pumping my fist in air. He was much more of a villian that I just hated.
Pam and Mahone's son dying surprised me. Wow.

I'll second that. No more of this wearing a long sleeved shirt in the Panamanian heat crap. |

I loved the start of the new season. Well, maybe not so much the first hour...it did seem like they were rushing through the story...but the second hour was great! I am really looking forward to seeing Michaels 'dark side' come out this year (mMm those eyes!) ...and of course...there can Never be enough gratuitous shots without the shirt! LOL! And I liked that they are keeping Gretchen on the show, she is just too good at being a b***h to get rid of her. |

I like the direction the series is taking even if parts of the premier ticked me off (Sara seems out of character and totally unnecessary and killing off Whistler, the best thing about the last season, while keeping on Gretchen who is essentially a poor man's Kellerman pissed me off bigtime). The biggest problem I had was how illogical the series is becoming (even by its standards), and I would cite how easily they were all caught as being contrived and the way some characters have had complete personality transplants doesn't sit easy with me (Bellick being prime example). It may have lost what made it unique in the first place but it feels like the natural progression the series should have taken. Overall, I was satisfied and I give Scyalla a solid 8 and Breaking And Entering an 8.5. It's just a long way from the intensity and ingenuity of season 2... |

Absolutely, Season 1 and 2 were wonderful. It's really impossible to beat them.
Sara does seem out of character. It's hard to put it into words. She just seems...different. |
