USA Network has announced that following the current seventh season, Monk will return in the summer for a final sixteen-episode run. The eighth and final season is sure to be a satisfying end to the series-long mystery surrounding the murder of Monk's wife.

The seventh season of Monk will return on November 28 with a special holiday episode and return from hiatus once again in January.
