The show, which has a dramedy theme, has been renewed for a seventh season. In April 2008, reruns of the show, along with "Psych", another USA Network show, began airing re-runs on NBC. New episodes of the show are expected to begin in July 2008.

I was happy to see that NBC would be airing MONK and that many more would be exposed to this hysterical oddity. Unfortunately the powers that be decided to NOT start at the beginning as I had hoped.... Without the initial episodes to "set up" the main theme I feel many viewers not understanding all that has made Monk "MONK" will be lost and NBC viewers will loose interest quickly.
