With the campaign gearing up, Sterling heads back to his home state to hold a fundraiser at his father's house. While in Los Angeles, Sterling attends the funeral for an LAPD officer killed on duty, but when a reporter questions him on his opposition to the death penalty, the officer's widow becomes angry at Sterling. Meanwhile, Tommy learns he's no longer welcome on the DMC's softball team since Sterling is an Independent.
