Great episode or Greatest episode?
I know a few of us were thinking jumpshark on a few parts of the episode, but I really liked it. It had everything, questions/answers, timetravel, paradoxes, love, death etc. you name it.
I cant seem to stop thinking that the reason why Desmond was dishonorably discharged from the Royal Scots was because of this time loop, or at least related to it somehow.
Sayid = MacGyver
I'm pretty sure all the dialog and everything about Sayid making a makeshift battery powered radio out of crippled parts in like under 10 minutes was intentional, but it was exaggeratedly fast! and awesomus
Like the old lady on Desmond's last time travel episode, Faraday also said that "You cannot change the past" But does that last scene where Faraday wrote "If Anything goes wrong, Desmond Hume will be my constant" Faraday explained the concept of the constant and all but this is actual evidence that Desmond wasn't delusional (like we needed proof) and that he actually changed something, helped Faraday in his rat-maze experiment succeed ahead of time. Or was it a causality loop (paradox?)
lol time travel, never try to understand it, it has its effects, you don't want to become like Faraday? Do ya, brothah?

It was..... most awesome. The best episodes of this show make me go "WTF???" for like, 4 or 5 days afterwards. They take time to process. This is one of those episodes. It was nice to finally see there really IS a freighter, really is an explanation to this time travel angle (even if we don't know what it is yet), understand a little what happened to Desmond, why Daniel Faraday was looking for Desmond... just a really good episode to chew on for awhile.
Watching Faraday write on his chalkboard reminded me of the show Numb3rs.

That brain exploding good, and confusing as heck, seen the episode twice so far. probably going to sea it another two times in this week.
I hate quoting myself but I want to correct myself on something:

I forgot about how Faraday said to Desmond in the past that he's been near radiation for a prolonged period of time.and also how he said in the present time that this time loop is caused by being exposed to high levels of radiation or electro-magnetism. He's a candidate for the time loop effect, true, but why did he choose Des as his constant? Strong feelings for? argh no. Maybe because of him he got his theory proven, or because they know that there paths could cross again because of the relative nearness to each other in the past .. I dunno. headaches
^Also, about the part of changing the past, it was already clear to us that he had influenced the past in someway to the point of Penny still having the phone number Desmond needed her to keep.
Another thing, This effect could be related to he sickness? (Though I seriously doubt it.)
The thing the doc at the freighter's sick bay injected the radio guy with the vile of who knows what looks like the thing Desmond use to inject himself with to avoid getting the sickness while still in the Swan Station.
I doubt this because of Rousseau comment on the sickness,
the subjects mentioned on this episode die on there own on a very small period time, while with Rousseau group she had to kill them. But Rousseau is a complete mystery so far. Who knows what she's been keeping secret and lying about.

This was so funny I had to share...the LOST podcast I listen to, Jay & Jack's, tossed this little tidbit out...
When Desmond asked for Penny's number it was...79460893...take 867309, then take the remaining 4 and subtract it from the remaining 9 and you get 5...add it to the others and you have 8675309 from the popular 80's tune about a girl named Jenny, and that rhymes with Penny!

I recently re-watched this episode and I was amazed by the production values. The show never stops amazing me when it comes to locations and this episode had plenty of them. One almost can't believe they shot the whole thing on Hawaii.
