  Season 9 (The Ninth Year)  
The Ninth Year of Law & Order saw the end of Detective Rey Curtis, as he retires to take care of his ill wife at the end of the last episode of the season. However, throughout the rest of the season he continues to help Detective Lennie Briscoe with their cases assigned by Lieutenant Van Buren.

A.D.A. Abbie Carmichael joins E.A.D.A. Jack McCoy and D.A. Adam Schiff in the District Attorney's Office to prosecute those the detectives have arrested.
