  Season 13 (The Thirteenth Year)  
Season 13 brought change to Law & Order. D.A. Arthur Branch (Fred Dalton Thompson) takes over for Interim D.A. Nora Lewin (Dianne Wiest) to help E.A.D.A. Jack McCoy and A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn (Sam Waterston and Elizabeth Rohm) prosecute their cases. On the other side, Detectives Lennie Briscoe and Ed Green (Jerry Orbach and Jesse L. Martin) continue to find the suspects with the help of Lieutenant Van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson).

Notable cases include a popular icon's child molestation charges, an insider trading scandal, steroid scandal, and a "ripped from the headline" case taken from the Kurt Cobain case.

Notable guest stars include J.K. Simmons, Leslie Hendrix and Carolyn McCormick.
