	Det. Joe Fontana [S15-S16], played by Dennis Farina Detective Joe Fontana comes to the 27th Precinct after Lennie Briscoe retired at the end of Season 14. Fontana is partnered with Ed Green up until he gets shot in the line of duty. He is temporarily partnered with Nick Falco until Green recovers. Fontana is shown to be hard on suspects and have a short temper when he tries to get suspects to confess. We learn that Fontana retired after the end of the 16th Season.
