SECOND WARNING!! My review contains precise details of key events in the pilot episode. If you do not want to know what they are, read no further.
Always a fan of time travel shows, regardless of trying to explain paradoxes and ripples, every one I've watched regularly always held my interest.
Based on the first pilot episode, this new TV addition to the time-travel genre holds up well. It is well-acted and the story is quite intriguing. Watching Dan Vassar (portrayed by Kevin McKidd) trying to explain his disappearances to his wife is almost heartbreaking. You wanna just reach out and flick her forehead. However, his method of finally convincing her was definitely written by someone who has watched a lot of shows and movies in this genre and said, "Why don't you just create a time-capsule that proves your story beyond a doubt.
As for the journeywoman mentioned in a previous review by King_Ryad, the fact that her disappearance was in direct correlation with her supposed death. As King_Ryad wrote:
| Quote: | | It interested me to see that there is not only a Journeyman but also a Journeywoman, whom everyone though was dead but in fact didnt get on the plane. |
The fact is, Livia DID get on that plane. The dialogue goes as follows:
Dan (to Livia): "They found your plane in the water but not your body."
Livia: "Dan ... "
Dan: "So, did you even get on that plane, or am I just talking to the ghost?"
Livia: "No, it's me. I left before it went down."
For the past seven years Dan's been mourning Livia's "death" and now he learns that she's been living a life just like the one he's begun to experience himself — traveling through time.
I want to see more. This shows looks EXTREMELY promising.
