Season 1
S-1

  Season 1 (Series 1)
The first series of Jeeves and Wooster introduces the cast of characters; in the first episode, we meet Bertie Wooster, a well-to-do, but aimless, young gentleman; we're also immediately introduced to Jeeves, his valet, who arrives after being sent by the agency. He immediately, almost with magical speed, cleans up Bertie's apartment and produces the drink that will cure any hangover.

In the course of the five episodes, we're also introduced to various friends and relations of Bertie; his fickle-in-love friend Bingo Little; his newt-loving friend Gussie Fink-Nottle, and his food-loving friend Tuppy Glossop. There are various other, lesser friend introduced via the Drones Club: Oofy Prosser, Boko Fittleworth, Dogface Rainsby, Freddie Chalk-Marshall. These latter friends are often seen only when Bertie is at the Drones Club, where young gentlemen with means go to while away the hours by drinking, playing cricket with dinner rolls, and having piggy-back races.

We also meet some of Bertie's relations: his Aunt Agatha, a formidible woman who always gets what she wants by steam-rolling over any opposition; his Aunt Dahlia who also gets what she wants, but by quieter means; his Uncle Tom, married to Aunt Dahlia; his cousins Oswald and Claude. It's never made clear whose sons these last two are, but they do not seem to be the sons of Aunt Agatha. Cousin Angela is the daughter of Aunt Dahlia, and engaged to Tuppy Glossop in an on-again, off-again fashion.

The women in Bertie's life are many; some of them he likes, for example, Bobbie Wickham, who is always ready with a trick to play on someone, which is fine, until the someone is Bertie. Other women, like Madeline Bassett, are ananthema to Bertie, who can not stand her endless prattling about how stars are God's daisy chain, and the loveliness of little bunnies. As the series begins, we see Bertie briefly engaged to Honoria Glossop; this is an engagment that Bertie does not want, and with the help of Jeeves, manages to escape. Bertie then decides to marry Bobby Wickham; however, Jeeves disapproves, and as events unfold, Bertie sees that Jeeves is right.

It seems that the events in the first series take place over a very short time span; Bertie mentions that the time period between the first episode and the third is only one and a half weeks. Episodes four and five happen over the course of a few days, presumably not long after episode three.

One thing that is never made clear throughout the entire series is whether Honoria Glossop is in any way related to Bertie's friend, Tuppy Glossop.
