Anthony explains that he and his team have tried to help hotel owners for the last five years. However, sometimes he's lost his patience and the people he's there to help have broken down. Now he presents his top ten meltdowns and blowups.
#10 Meltdown: Marital Meltdown
In Puerto Rico at the Caribe Playa Beach Resort, the private beach was a mess and maintenance was non-existent. There were no security latches on the door. The owner George and his GM Frances met with Anthony, who said that they were ignoring the problems. Frances is George's wife as well as the general manager, and eventually George agreed with Anthony that Frances wasn't suited to run the hotel. Frances didn't take it well. She told the camera crew to cut and walked off, and Anthony went off after her. She finally agreed to talk to him off-camera and insisted that she wasn't the problem. George comes in and says that he's doing it for their relationship, and Frances accepts her husband's decision.
#9 Meltdown: Crash and Burn
At the Streamline Hotel in Daytona Beach, GM Demetri had no idea what to do. When Demetri looks bored during a fire-safety meeting, Anthony calls him on it. Demetri vents to the camera crew, complaining that the owner abandoned him. Anthony watches the footage as Demetri threatened to punch Anthony in the mouth.
Anthony presents unused footage of Anthony talking to his producer about talking to Demetri. The producer is concerned that Anthony will have a black eye for the next shoot, so Anthony talks to the owner, Eddie. Eddie is upset as well and Anthony notes that Demetri took it personally. Anthony then meets with Demetri, who says that he was venting and didn't mean it. Later, Eddie became the GM and made Demetri his assistant.
#8 Meltdown: Tee'd Off
The Water Gap Hotel in Pennsylvania was owned by Shaun and Julie Lyons. When Anthony got there, they told him that they're going to open in two weeks but having a wedding party that weekend... the next day. The groom's parents checked in, found bugs, and left. While Anthony let the groom's father calm down, the couple arrived late and complained to the camera crew. Anthony confronted them and got upset, insisting that he was there to help them. The couple had a beautiful day despite that.
#7 Meltdown: Misfortune
At the Fortune Hotel in Las Vegas, Anthony discovers that the staff were all first-timers except or Chuck, who handled at least eight different jobs. Chuck insists that he can't train anyone at the front desk, and confronts a guest who comes down breakfast. He asks if she's staying there, and she confirms that she did. Chuck tells Anthony that the day before, they weren't staying there and came in. Anthony took offense and called him on it, and Chuck said that he's never had any complaints. He tells Anthony that he doesn't need his help and walks off.
#6 Meltdown: Hollywood Nightmare
Anthony goes to the Hollywood Liberty Hotel and helps them with their safety issues. He confronts the owner, Lida, and tells her to bring a fire inspector in. The fire inspector says that it should be shut down but Lida worries about the budget. She talks with Anthony off-camera and wants to focus on where to store the luggage. Anthony, irritated, says that she doesn't know what is or isn't safe, and tells Lida and her husband Moez that it's not a joke and they don't understand that they're sitting on a time bomb. The hotel is still getting bad online reviews.
#5 Meltdown: Paradise Lost
In Maui, Anthony discovers that the Sunseeker Resort is in shambles. The tables are filthy and the fixtures are rusting. Anthony confronted the GM, Michael, who had plenty of excuses and blamed the owner. The hotelier blew up in Michael's face, and Michael said maybe he should go if the problems are his fault.
#4 Meltdown: Breaking Point
Anthony goes to the Chipman Hill Suites in New Brunswick, Canada, and is impressed by the buildings and the clean hallways. He didn't know what was wrong until he met Susan, the owner. She ruled the staff with an iron fist and Anthony confirmed that they weren't happy. Some of them quit rather than continue taking it, leaving the housekeeping staff with three persons for eleven buildings. One housekeeper broke into tears and Anthony, infuriated, confronts Susan. He tells her that she can't disrespect the employees, and Susan is terrified that the standard will drop. Anthony insists that he's done the housekeepers' job and he knows that it's tough.
#3 Meltdown: Dangerous Curves
The Curve Hotel in Palm Springs wants to rebrand. However, Anthony finds safety issues and gives them a jump start on renovations. There's rust on the bathroom fixtures and the door is literally falling off of the storage door. The housekeeping supervisor, Joaquin, was unhappy with Anthony for tearing things up. Joaquin refused to listen to Anthony's explanation that he's there to make sure the employees and guests are safe. He says that Anthony is wrong and walks off. Later, Anthony commended Joaquin for standing up to him.
#2 Meltdown: Rotten Eggs
Anthony goes to the 12-room Abacrombie Inn in Baltimore, and discovers that the B&B; rooms smell. The furniture is covered in thick lawyers of dust, and the owners don't have a clue. Anthony runs unseen footage of a guest convenience room with a microwave with a dirty plate. The refrigerator has mold and the silverware has fungus and caked peanut butter on it.
The food for the breakfast is spoiled and the hard-boiled eggs smell. Anthony marks one of the eggs and comes back 26 hours later and discovers the egg is still there. He brings the owners in and they agree that it's unacceptable, but want to shut down the breakfast entirely. Anthony, furious, tells them that he can't help people who don't understand how to work in the hospitality business.
Honorable Mention
Before moving onto the #1, Anthony talks about a few other instances. Linda, the owner of the Autoport in State College, blows up at her employees because they don't do their job unless she tells them.
#1 Meltdown: Seaside Struggle
After recapping the blowdowns, Anthony reveals the #1 blowup: the Thunderbird Hotel. After Hurricane Sandy, Anthony and his crew head to Seaview Heights, New Jersey to rebuild. The owners, the Brawns, say that they have everything invested into the partially ruined hotel. However, Anthony checks property with Ray Jr., the son who will take over as GM. He and his sister Jayne fail miserably on the inspection, and Anthony tells him that he doesn't have what he needs to be a GM. Ray Jr. tells his family and they yell at Anthony the next day. They complain to the producer about how Anthony is insulting Ray Jr. The family demands that they delete the footage, and Ray Sr. threatens to chop Anthony's head off. Ray Jr. refuses to talk to Anthony, and the camera crew finally packs up and leaves.
