Heroes.. of a different nature
!!!!!! This review contains spoilers !!!!!!

"Heroes" Weakness is also its strength.
It's about a group of people, ordinary people, seemingly unrelated to one another. They turn out to each own a special trait. Two very different brothers find they can fly, a Japanese guy discovers he can travel through time and space with the power of his mind, and a young girl is surprised to know that she can withstand most any physical damage.
"Heroes" Is the next evolutionary step after "The 4400", "Lost" and "Now and Again" and even "Prison Break". All of these portray "normal" people trapped in abnormal circumstances, and trying to make the best out of it.
However, to me "Heroes" differs in that it adds the element of several super-heroes - each of them possessing just one trait. Unlike Superman (with multiple abilities) or Spider-man (spider sense, agility, shooting webs..), They each struggle to understand their gift and how to deal with it on top of their everyday life. They have only one ability each, and at many times it's just isn't enough.
As the series progresses, it becomes evident that the group would unite towards a near future calamity. This might turn the show into something like "fantastic four" or "legion of superheroes" - Which I hope it won't.
For the show to survive on its own merit, it needs to hold it's uniqueness. Those people are still people, with lives, hopes and dreams. Not born with this "magical gift"..
One of the major question marks I found when watching, was that they all seem to become aware of their talents at about the same time. And yet, those abilities are supposedly an evolution in the human gene pool..
I hope this will be answered in the future, as I try not to see it as a weakness but more of a curiousity factor to drive me closer to the show.

Hope you all like it as much as I did!
