Isaac Mendez, played by Santiago Cabrera

Issac is a brilliant artist whose recent works have been stunning...in more ways than one.

It seems that Issac, when he is high, has the ability to predict the future, and channels these images into his paintings. It also seems that his apartment is the designated "gathering place" for the other "heroes," and on his floor is a massive painting of what they must ultimately prevent---the nuclear destruction of New York City.

Issac's drawings and paintings are instrumental to the missions of the other characters: his paintings of Claire lead Peter to go to Odessa, Texas to save her; Hiro Nakamura and his friend And Masahashi use Issac's comic 9th Wonders! as a sort of "road map" on their quest; and Linderman snaps up Issac's paintings as fast as he makes them available. Mr. Bennet, Nathan Petrelli, and even Simone Deveaux have also found the paintings to become useful.

After accidentally shooting Simone to death (he had been aiming at an invisible Peter), Issac resigns himself to his fate--being murdered by the serial killer Sylar. After being crucified with his own paintbrushes to his floor, Issac dies--but not before he relays through his comics and paintings the events which will save his beloved New York City.
