While planning a baby shower for Lane, Rory gets an unexpected call from the The New York Times offering her an interview. Rory scrambles to prepare for the interview leaving Lorelai to take over baby shower preparations. As Lorelai plans, she finds her self running interference between Lane and Mrs. Kim as they bicker over how Lane will raise the twins. Logan admits to Rory that his business venture went bad, and Rory offers him full support until Logan begins to revert back to his old ways by traveling to Las Vegas with Colin and Finn to blow off steam. Meanwhile, when Luke finds that Liz and T.J. are trying to sell his boat, he decides to make big changes in his life by taking April on a boat trip for the summer. Lastly, Lane is placed on bed rest and has to be wheeled in her bed across town to her party at Miss Patty's.

Episode Quotes |

(Logan comes home drunk and wants to make a sandwich)
Logan: Who keeps bread in the refrigerator?! I hate cold bread! Arg! These twist ties -- they're impossible! | Lane: Listen, here's the thing. My kids are going to need that too. You know, when they're hiding their Bibles and they can't stand me. So, what I want to know is, would you be their Lorelai Gilmore? I guess that's the proper term.
Rory: Really?
Lane: I can't think of anyone who'd be better. Plus, you already have the name.
Rory: I'd love to. | Kirk: Word on the street is you're selling your boat.
Luke: I called you, Kirk.
Kirk: Yeah, well I was on the street when you called. | Lorelai: Alright, I'm going to call Mrs. Kim. She'll have some good ones. Have you seen the phone?
Sookie: See, the thing is, when I sat down, I realized it was behind me, and it's right on my lower back. And normally, I would pull it out but it's really kind of hitting just the right spot where I've had a knot for like a week.
(Lorelai puts out her hand for the phone)
Sookie: (gets it out from behind her) Did I mention I was pregnant? | Zach: Hey, Luke, you still haven't RSVP'd for the baby shower.
Luke: Yeah, I don't think I'm going to go.
Zach: Oh, really?
Luke: Yeah, it's not my thing. But, there's a gift for you in the back. You should take it before you leave.
Kirk: Wait, gifts are required?
Zach: Yeah, that's kind of the whole point. I mean, that's how Lane talked me into the whole thing.
Kirk: Damn! It's my first baby shower. I've been so caught up in the wardrobe question. Just to clarify, people don't actually dress like babies?
Zach: I think what you're wearing is fine, dude. | Rory: I mean, how often does a girl’s best friend have twins?
Lane: Just once, let’s hope. | Luke: Seems like yesterday she was taking up three tables at the diner with those giant books of hers.
Lorelai: Hmm.
Luke: Yep. She was something. Is something.
Lorelai: So, what's this I hear about Kirk buying your boat?
Luke: Oh, well, I just realized I was never going to take that thing out. I mean, all that time I spent trying to fix it up. So, I bought a new one.
Lorelai: (surprised) When?
Luke: Today. Got the idea in my head a couple of hours ago, went down to the shipyard in Bridgeport, and just did it.
Lorelai: You just bought a boat.
Luke: Yeah, and it's even bigger and better than the old one. It's got everything. It's got a little kitchen, bathroom, even a place to sleep.
Lorelai: Wow!
Luke: Yeah, I'm just going to keep it down there in the marina and when April comes in the summer, you know take it out on little trips. You know, go away for a few weeks.
Lorelai: Luke, that sounds really nice!
Luke: Right.
Lorelai: God, I can't believe you bought a boat in a day! It used to take you a week to buy a t-shirt.
Luke: Yeah, well, things change. (awkward pause) Alright, I'll see you inside? |
