On the mid season finale, TAPS heads to Pea Patch Island, Delaware where they will investigate a formal POW camp during civil war known as Fort Delaware. Fort Delaware is the site of one of the largest civil war prisons. This island fortress, which is only accessible by boat, was built in 1848 and took 20 years to build. It was originally built as an artillery defense camp for the Union and was turned into a POW camp during civil war. It housed over 33000 prisoners, and over 2500 people had died at this fort.
Three major claims have been brought to the attention of TAPS, all three include physical apparitions of "cleaning lady", a "female cook", and a "soldier". The cleaning lady was claimed to have been seen inside a room and cleans a kettle then disappears. The female cook was claimed to have been seen inside the kitchen area lifting pots and smiles back at eyewitness then disappears, it was reported that the same apparition had been heard laughing and causing doors to become locked. The Civil war soldier had been spotted throughout the fort. Other claims include phantom whispers & voices, a lamp thrown at people without reason or cause.
TAPS is joined by guest investigator, and "Hunt for a Hunter" winner, Mark Fusetti.

(Note all EVPs are based on what either TAPS and/or the respective people associated to the case have understood after listing to the EVPs in question.)
EVP #1 (Female voice): Children.
EVP #2 (Deep male voice): Show some respect around here.
EVP #3 (Female voice): Kitchen. | Grant: Last time we did a fort it was amazing.
Kris: I know, I can't wait.
Jason: This place was built in the 1800's, Kris?
Kris: Yep, in the 1800's, and it was originally built as artillery defense for the Union. Eventually, though, it was turned into a POW camp, and it held over thirty three thousand people.
Grant: Holly crap!
Jason: Thats nuts! | Grant: Well, what could we expect to see up there as far as activity?
Kris: As far as activity there's three apparitions that they speak of. A cleaning woman, a cook, and a confederate soldier.
Jason: That's very cool. | (Jason, Grant and Kris Williams inside a van.)
Jason: Now how many people died here?
Kris: Well, going through the records they estimate about two thousand five hundred died at the fort.
(Grant grabs his walkie and calls Steve. Steve is inside another van.)
Jason: Hey Stevie.
(Steve and Dave Tango are in another van.)
Steve: Hey Jay.
Jason: Kris [was] just telling us that at one point they had thirty three thousand prisoners, and twenty five hundred death, man.
Steve: I've never heard of a prison that holds that many people.
Jason: Just so you all know, It's only accessible by water. Also, Mark is supposed to be meeting us there. The "Hunt for the Hunter".
(Inside another van, Kyrstin and Joe are hearing in on what Jason was saying over the radio.)
Kyrstin: Oh that's awesome.
Joe: Cool.
Kyrstin: It'll be nice to see him again. | Grant: So I hear there is a lot of paranormal activity here
Lee Jennings: Absolutely. We've got quiet a few reports from visitors, people who work here. Actually, you're standing on one of the sites right this minute.
Grant: Wait, what happened here?
Lee Jennings: Well, you see these stairs behind you?
Grant: Yeah.
Lee Jennings: Thee get really slick when they're wet. A Private Stefano was upstairs, called for the guard ran down the stairs, slipped, rolled down the airs,...
Grant & Jason: Oh.
Lee Jennings: ...broke his neck and crushed his skull right here.
Grant: So he died right here where I'm standing?
Lee Jennings: Right where you're standing.
Grant: Wow.
Lee Jennings: So when we started to hear. "thump-thump-thump"
Grant: Oh, so that's one of the reports?
Lee Jennings: We have a suspicion that it might be Private Stefano.
Grant: So I guess we got to be careful around the steps?
Lee Jennings: You got to be really careful about that, but I think we need to go on up now because one of the other sitings we have is right up stairs. | (Steve talking to his recorder.)
Steve: Steve and Dave Tango, tunnels.
(Steve to Dave.)
Steve: Is this room, here?
Dave: Yeah, let do it.
Steve: People write in here.
Dave: What?
(Steve reads off of the supposed writing)
Steve: For a good time, call Mrs.Tango
(Dave and Steve mumble somethings while they both laugh) | Dave: Hey, what's that on your arm?
Steve: Huh?
Dave: What is this?
Steve: Oh, it's just spider-spray.
(Steve reading off of the can.)
Steve: Spiders are one of the most feared pests around.
Steve: See that, I'm not alone man. | Steve: You know, unfortunately I have a lot of phobias. I'm afraid of things, from spiders to flying, airplanes, heights, just about anything you can think of. | (Cuts to Jason being interviewed)
Jason: Grant and I just decided we were going to pull Kris Williams aside.
(Cuts to Jason, Grant Kris conversing)
Kris: What's up?
Grant: Walk with us
Kris: uh oh.
Jason: Talk with us.
Kris: uh oh.
Kris: I feel like I'm being set up. What's going on?
Jason: We never set you up.
Kris: OK, what are you doing?
(Cuts to Grant being interviewed)
Grant: In TAPS we have a pretty extensive training period, and we like to really try out our investigators before ah we welcome them fully into the group.
(Cuts back to Jason, Grant, and Kris conversing)
Jason: We think you've been doing great, Uhm, you've definitely come a long way, and uh, pretty much you've done great for the last year. We think it's time to step out of being "Kris Williams in-Training" and be just Kris Williams, you know, TAPS member.
Kris: Ohh. Thank you guys. I thought you guys were going to throw me in some evil room.
Grant: No, that's next step.
Kris: Oh, Ok.
(Cuts back to Jason being interviewed)
Jason: Just happy to actually able to move her up, and move her out of training, and to have her become a full fledged investigator.
(Cuts back to Jason, Grant, and Kris conversing)
Grant: We knew eight years ago that you'd be perfect for the team and here you are, and of course you've blown our expectations, so thank you.
(Cuts Kris being interviewed)
Kris: I've known Jay and Grant for so long, and Steve and Tango have been absolutely great. Uhm, I've had a great time with them from up until now. And I'm just looking forward to hopefully a long future with TAPS.
(Cuts back to Kris giving hugs to Jason and Grant)
Kris: Thank you guys.
Grant: Thank you. Alright, lets go. | Jason: And then in the kitchen, we got that loud bang that happened, and we were able to catch that audio, right?
Steve: We can go into that right now.
Jason: Sweet.
(Steve plays the video.)
(a loud bang is heard.)
(In the recording after the bang, Jason says the following:)
Jason: Shit!
(The recording ends, everyone starts to laugh at Jason's reaction)
Grant: Did you see you move?
Jason: At least I didn't pull a "dude run".
Grant: That's awesome. Anyone would of done that, it's just funny to see it. | Grant: Of course you know how we work, we try to capture any activity at the same time we try to debunk, and honestly the stories you gave us, you know the figure that comes down out and lifts the lid off of a pot and stirs the soup, you can't mistaken that. There's something happened there.
Lee Jennings: Right.
Grant: And I hate to say that, you know, the witness there had something wrong in the head, because you know...
Jason:She's your wife.
Grant: She's your wife.
Lee Jennings: That would be.. That would be a bad thing. | Steve: I wounder what these, these rail systems were used for? You see that?
Dave: Yeah.
Steve: Maybe this was... (Steve becomes frightened over what he just saw.)
Dave: What?
Steve: There's a spider.
Dave: show me.
Steve: It's not he biggest I've seen, but it's waiting. Probably knows I don't...
Dave: He smells your fear.
Steve: Right there.
Dave: What? (Dave notices the spider and is shocked by it's appearance) Oh! I hate those!
Steve: I know, it was right in my face. I can't, I honestly can't look at them for more than a millisecond. If my eye fixes on more then a second I feel like it's on me and i can't take it off. He deserved a little something. (Steve hold up his can of spider-spray.).
Dave: No. You;re going to mess with it. Why do you mess with it?
Steve: You're right. I'll just let him.. You're right.
Dave: Unless you're going in there.
Steve: No. Lets get out of here, Tango. We've been in here long enough. Yeah, lets go investigate somewhere else. |
