Episode Notes |

Avalon World Tour: Unknown location in Guatemala. The World Travelers arrived May 24, 1996. | Zafiro is obviously based on the Quetzalcoatl, a god of the Toltecs and Aztecs, one of the manifestations of the sun god Tezcatlipoca and represented as a plumed serpent. | Jackal and Hyena went through another upgrade. | The four Guatemalan gargoyles' names (Zafiro, Turquesa, Obsidiana, and Jade) are the Spanish words for the four types of stone the Mayan shaman used to make the Sun Amulet (sapphire, turquoise, obsidian and jade). | Greg Weisman disclosed that the Sun Amulet survived the destruction of the Clock Tower (cf. "Hunter's Moon, Part Two"). Afterwards it was moved to the Castle Wyvern. Zafiro would have later come to New York to recover it. |

Episode Quotes |
| |
Jackal: There's nothing like the smell of new meat.
Hyena: Especially when it sizzles. (laughs) | Jackal: Manhattan, Egypt, now Guatemala – must Goliath follow us everywhere?
Hyena: Hey, he's a fan. And we always make time for our fans. | Elisa: Those people are simple farmers. If they don't cut down at least a few trees, they won't be able to support their families.
Zafiro: There is no such thing as only 'a few trees.' | Hyena: The night is looking up! Bowling for Gargoyles, anyone? | Jackal: Hey, gargoyles! If a tree falls in the forest, do I get to hear it scream? |

Episode Goofs |
| |
How could Jackal be hit so hard that he flew all the way to the hot tub? | When Zafiro scares off the two villagers cutting down trees, the older one (father) yells to the younger one (son) "Corren! Escapense!" Which, in Spanish, means "Run! Escape!" However, the form he is using would be for addressing more than one person (in essence "Run, you guys! Get out of here, you guys!") But there was only his son beside himself. | Hyena should have immediately passed out after hitting the shield, and not hold her head in pain before fainting. | Lexington and Broadway should have made sure that Hyena wouldn't wake up and run away before the police find her. | The police seemed too relaxed and casual when they saw such a high profile criminal as Hyena. |
