You told me no discussion until 2 weeks after the episode has aired, yet here you are.
Shame, shame to you Mr. IGotBupkis! Shame I say!!!
Your punishment is 3 hours of "According to Jim" reruns. |

This was the halloween ep, right. Well that highlander man bloke needs a right good slap for not just telling his wifey about his FF right at the very start, I knew that decision would come to kick him in the ass, what a dink. But as for the blue hands, getting a bit Fireflyish. IIRC Joss never decided exactly what they meant, hopefully the FF ptb have a logical reason, other than the badies all being Smurfies. |

The Gift is this upcoming episode. You're talking about last week's Scary Monster episode, zwixxx. |

a) I said no spoilers without spoiler marks. That's ALL the limit there is. You can speak all you want about things, including what has happened, just, for the first two weeks, use spoiler marks so someone has to choose to read something that reveals plot details.
b) According to Jim... *sigh* the guy was soooo good in Taking Care of Business. One would've hoped he'd actually have developed more. |

I occurs to me that there is a fairly radical check for if you can alter the future. If you had a view of your hands in such a manner that you know they were intact, then chop off your pinky. The pinky is not generally required for manual dexterity, and, while it's pretty radical, I think there would be people who would do it, just to know if there was a change possible. I'd also think the government might offer funds to specific individuals who volunteer for such a test (get summaries of likely individuals before announcing it and making any offer).

(Of course there's also the Al solution, if your FF revealed something you really, really couldn't live with, as Al believes his fate will involve -- surely some people would see themselves seriously, permanently injured, for example, which would result in quadraplegia, or something, and that was not something you would consider acceptable.)

This series is starting to remind me of a very long but not so good date. You're not ever sure when to give it up and go home. Maybe I keep missing something.
I must admit though that the Blue Hand group was an interesting reaction to their dark FF. Debauchery would be my reaction also, I expect, and why not? ( He asked. )
FBI Agent Al's suicide was an attempt to change the future but how will we know if it worked? |

It's clearly already changed the future -- we know his vision won't be true and the same is true of that of Fiona Banks, which I guess is particularly important. And it also has to affect the life of Celia, since, while she may still die, she won't do so at Al's hands.

If you are asking if it would be a common reaction, yes, I concur.
Would it be the only, or a proper, reaction? I think "no" to either question.
A human usually behaves one of two ways if they are informed they are going to die -- they can lose themselves in sybaritic abandon, or they can try and make their final days better.
“What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.”
-- Albert Pine --
"Depend on it, sir, when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully"
-- Samuel Johnson --
"What If you were like, 'God, I don't want to die' and He said, 'Then when?' "
-- DeRay -- |

I think we already had this discussion.
This isn't the 1960s. Perhaps you've noticed. Okay, apparently not.
People don't watch TV shows the moment of airing any more. It's Friday afternoon, and I still haven't seen the Thursday ep of FF (1x08 ) yet, since I had things to do until 9:30. I'll be watching it shortly.
Are you the guy who talks about key plot details of a suspense movie that opened on Friday over the water cooler on Monday with people who you know haven't seen the movie yet? |

Also I'd point out (I haven't watched 1x08 yet) that Aaron's experience doesn't qualify in any way as something that changes the future. |

If you are afraid of finding out something you don't want to know then don't come here (or the water cooler) until you've seen the episode. Your failure to have timely viewing habits isn't my problem. Do REALLY expect the world to wait until you catch up?
Are you disguised as my my ex-wife? She always thought she was special also. |

What part of "use spoilers" stops anyone from discussing anything?
Answer that and then your concerns might have merit. Until then, you're just being pointedly obtuse. |
