I'm not quite sure that Family Guy can be compared to other adult animated series out there these days, this series has a unique type of humour - almost to the point of surrealism. The gags can be read on so many levels and I can honestly say I've never managed to watch an episode without laughing out loud.
The characters themselves are pure genius, especially the diabolical little Stewie, and Peter, two of the best fictional characters ever created.
It may take awhile to grow on some people, but I think if it's given a proper chance any viewer could become a fan.
