Yeaa most references are so crude nowadays, you'd have to be a pop-culture genius to get them. Seth is trying to prove he can write songs, but no one cares. He needs to stop putting gay little songs in every episode.

I wouldnt go as far as having to be a pop-culture genious. I get most of the Jokes, even the more obscure ones.

Also, I agree with the second comment. The songs are gay, except the Stewie and Brian songs.

What's Up, I'm new here. This is my first forum post.
Family Guy has changed. The new change doesn't seem so good. But I still think that it's worth watching. I think the show's Seasons 4-6 were a little annoying. But me like this show.

Family Guy is genuinely still the funniest show on Television right now, but that's not saying much. I prefer to watch the Seasons on DVD because 1. Fox censors a lot of the stuff, 2. DVDs have special features such as Commentary etc, and 3. Because Season 1 2 and 3 are amazing.

I wouldn't say its the funniest. There's no way that any FG eps post-cancellation are better than South Park.

I beg to differ, South Park has gotten used to using the "Its bigger than were actually making it out to be" formula for all there new episodes, and its getting rather bland and dont get me wrong, so is Family Guy in alot of respects post-cancellation, but it keeps me coming back.

Just because they are animated comedies aimed towards adults doesn't make them the same, IMO. They are like apples and oranges. Different kind of humor. The biggest similarities is that they both have a lot of pop culture references.

A Family Guy episode is one pop culture reference after another, because there's hardly, if any, story at all. Newer South Park usually focuses in on one large reference, whilst the older episodes are like Family Guy, but not really as random or quick.

Another thing: What the heck is up with all the annoying 5 minute long song and dance sequences? It seems like in every other new episodes, there's a song which is not funny ni the least and goes on to long. It's liek "OK Seth, we get it. You can write songs." I think the songs are just fillers cuz the writers are out of ideas.

Yeah, i also think in the same way. I also hate all that stuff.

Its because Seth is a big Music fan, Family Guy is one of the only shows these days to use an actual orchestra sometimes...and i love Seth's decision in that. In brings more substance, and the fact that he can sing also helps.
