“Extra: The Entertainment Magazine” now called “Extra” debuted on Monday 5 September 1994 in syndication. This show/series has also been known as “Extra, Extra” and “Extra: The News Magazine”. This series was a copycat of “Entertainment Tonight” that debuted on 14 September 1981 in syndication. “Entertainment Tonight” also known as “ET” was produced by the “Paramount” corporation and “Extra” was originally produced by one of its’ biggest competitors in the entertainment industry the “Time Warner” corporation. Both shows are seen Monday through Friday at many different times throughout the Country, sometimes in the AM but mostly in the PM. “Extra” also airs a weekend 1-hour special show.
