When a coalmine near Everwood collapses, Dr. Brown, with the help of Linda, Edna, and Harold, hurry to lend their medical assistance to the disaster. The doctors' personal relationships with the miners, who include the Abbot's neighbor and Ephram's piano teacher, add more emotion to the situation. In order to save lives, each of the doctors use their special skills and Andy is forced to face one of his greatest fears.
