Episode Quotes |
| |
Hodges: Bud didn't marry Annabelle. Bud married Natasha pretending to be Annabelle.
Catherine: Well, one thing's for sure. Neither one of them is pretending to be dead. | Bud: Annabelle and I married two days ago.
Spencer: Oh, I don't believe that.
Bud: Oh, no it's true. We had a deal. She said that if I gave up coke that we could get married.
Spencer: But you never gave up coke.
Bud: She didn't know that. | Henry: So, the clot doesn't thicken but the plot does. | David: Sorry for the delay, it's a pappazzi jungle downstairs.
Grissom: Yeah, well Doc Robbins isn't the only one with a scrap book. | Warrick: Hey, what does this look like to you?
Grissom: Hermaphrodite on rollerskates.
Catherine: A puppy. | Bud: Whoa hey! Easy on the Emmy there buddy.
Grissom: Is that what this is? | Greg: So, that's it. Robot-man, closet-stalker-guy gets his package grabbed and a TV star dies.
Nick: It is the classic story. | Lytle: Beautiful people doing high-tech police work. There might be a series in this. | Grissom: Did she also have a drug problem?
Lytle: Define problem.
Grissom: The kind that requires using other people's urine to past a drug test.
Lytle: Then yes. | Spencer: Sure, I created the show. When the show became a hit, she became a star. I became a highly paid butt-monkey.
Brass: Well, it's a skill like anything else. |

Title: Two and a Half Deaths
The episode title is a take on the CBS sitcom title Two and a Half Men. The episode title reflects the fact that the episode is a cross-over with the popular CBS sitcom, with writers from both shows sharing duties. CBS did a number of crossover interactions in its series the week of the broadcast. During the episode, the stars of Two and a Half Men are also seen standing outside a studio trailer.
| Bud: Whoa hey! Easy on the Emmy there buddy.
Grissom: Is that what this is?
The Emmy award is usually considered to be TV's highest award, equivalent to a movie Oscar. Grissom and Bud's exchange is a running gag for both CSI and Two and a Half Men. Both shows have received multiple Emmy nominations over the course of their long runs, but neither have won an Emmy. | Brass: (to Grissom) Forget it, Gil. It's Burbank.
Brass' line is a reference to an infamous quip from the film Chinatown: "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown." | Henry: What we have here is failure to coagulate.
Henry's line is a reference to a classic line in the 1967 film, Cool Hand Luke: "What we have here is failure to communicate." | Nick: A mime is a terrible thing to waste.
Nick is referencing the slogan of the United Negro College Fund: "A mind is a terrible thing to waste." | Grissom: Dying is easy, comedy is hard.
Grissom is slightly misquoting the last words of Oscar winning actor Edmund Gwenn: "Dying is easy. Comedy is difficult." Gwenn won his Oscar as a supporting actor in the classic film, Miracle on 34th Street, playing Santa Claus. | Frieberg: She hates everything and I'm afraid of vaginas.
Mark: I'm only afraid of the ones with teeth.
In the 2007 film Teeth, young women have teeth lining their vaginas. The term, however, long predates that movie, generally referencing a bad sort of woman that you wind up regretting getting involved with. |
