Grissom and the team are called out when the city's former chief of detectives is killed execution-style in his home after a party and his wife and child are missing. After the station receive reports that they had seen the missing child near Miami, Catherine and Warrick fly to Florida and meet with Horatio Caine, Miami's chief CSI, who works with them on their investigation.

(Catherine knocks on the door to get Gil's attention. She walks in to his office. Gilturns around. He's wearing a dark suit and tying his tie.)
Catherine: Hello.
Gil: Hey.
(Catherine stands in the doorway.)
Gil: Nice tan.
(Gil sits down in his chair.)
Catherine: Nice suit.
(Catherine walks into the office and stops in front of Gil's desk.)
Gil: Yeah, well, I knew you were coming back today, so I dressed up.
Catherine: Yeah. Right.
Gil: Really.
(Catherine looks at Gil.)
Gil: What?
Catherine: Nothing. It's just ... unusual to see you dressed like that.
Gil: I had to go to the Chief's funeral.
Catherine: Missed me that much, huh?
(Catherine turns around and heads out the doorway, but not before she looks over her shoulder to cast Gil a final look and smile.)
(Gil smiles as he watches her walk away. He shakes his head and turns back to his book ... still smiling.)
