Episode Quotes

Grissom: Everyone learns from science; it all depends on how you use the knowledge.

Brass: What was his level?
Sofia: 1.9
Brass: That's almost enough to wash away your sins.

Cameraman: Do you watch our show? It's got a lot of forensics.
Grissom: There's too many forensics shows on TV.

Catherine: Low-profile entry, sedatives, duct tape, and if he's not a serial he will be soon.

Cameraman: You were a CSI, right?
Sofia: Yeah.
Cameraman: But now you're a detective. So, which side of the fence to you prefer?
Sofia: It's the same side.

Greg: So they have nothing in common?
Grissom: Sure they both have feet.

Cultural References

Title: I Like To Watch

The term I Like To Watch is sometimes used to refer to sexual voyeurism, but also refers to the classic 1979 film Being There, a tale of a simpleton with no real-world experience -- all his life he's been in a single house with an old TV set (hence "I Like To Watch") and who has literally no experience with the outside world. When his guardian dies, he is forced to venture forth and through fortuitous circumstance, through those around him reading far more depth into his simple-minded observations and comments than there are, becomes a widely followed observer of life and politics. The simpleton, named Chance, sees the real world as a big TV show.

Visual: Opening sequence

The episode's opening sequence is similar to that of the movie Snatch.
