Episode Notes

First appearance of Craig Bierko as Jeffrey Coho.

Denny breaks character 3 times before the main intro starts.

Jeffrey: We're the new guys.
Denny: Oh please, if there were new guys, they would have shown up in the season premiere.

Denny: Welcome to Boston Legal.

Denny: Queue the music. (Intro starts.)

This has become a somewhat of a staple or running gag of the show. They do it a few times a season and it is not limited to Denny. Other characters have done is as well.

Shirley and Jeffrey had a one time affair.

Jeffrey's cell phone ring is a voice repeating, "Objection!... Move to strike!"

Episode Quotes

(Denny spots Claire for the first time.)
Denny: Well, well, well, well, well. If you're a client, I'll get you off; if you're not... the offer's still there.
Claire: Okay, ick... and double ick.

Denny: Is that a guy?
Alan: Don't be silly.
Denny: Seriously, I think that's a guy.

Jeffrey: What is this? Good cop - bad cop? If so, send in the good cop.

Shirley: I'll get the new girl to help. She knows employment law.
Alan: You can't just assign me casses and girls.... Girls maybe.

Claire Simms: Okay, the cross-dresser just call me a ho.

Barbara Little: Could my son actually be arrested?
Jeffrey: Never a good thing to leave one's semen at the murder scene.

Denny: I hope she doesn't put a hex on me. Can they do that?... Midgets?

Alan: Transvestites are now a risk to national security. Did you know that?
Denny: Of course they are. Prancing around wearing disguises. There could be a Muslim underneath all that mascara.

Alan: I like the new girl, Claire.
Denny: She called me gross... and fat. I think she's attracted to me.

Cultural References

(About his cigar.)
Denny: It's a personal gift from Bill Clinton. If you only knew where the cigar has been.

This is a reference to the infamous scandal where Pres. Bill Clinton had an affair with one of his interns, Monica Lewinsky. It was rumored she used a cigar to "pleasure herself" and the President then smoked it.

Denny: We met on FaceSpace. We've been corresponding for the last two weeks.

FaceSpace is an obvious reference to MySpace.com and Facebook. MySpace is a site where people can have their own web pages to blog, meet new people, and keep up with old friends. It's also been used to advertise things like movies. Facebook is similiar to MySpace but targeted more towards college students and adults who share common interests and networks.

Episode References

Alan: I just had Jerry Espenson last week. I need a break from this sort of thing.

This is a reference to the previous episode, Can't We All Get a Lung, in which Alan defended Jerry yet again.
