3x13: From the Horse's Mouth recap: Investigator Wernick heads to a location to execute a court seizure warrant related to three horses. One of them has already died, and the other two are severely underweight. There are no signs of food or water. The horses are seized and later inspected. It is discovered that one is likely thin due to its overgrown teeth, which inhibit its ability to chew. The horse's teeth are filed down, and it will hopefully gain weight. read more.2x13: Fallen Horse (aka Justice Is Served) recap: Investigator Kennedy responds to a call from the Harris County Sheriff's Office and heads off to see if two horses need to be seized by the sheriff's deputies under a court warrant. They are emaciated and obviously in need of medical care. Kennedy notices that they are out of water, and they are also in a dangerous environment. After a vet arrives and examines them, the horses are taken to get medical attention. Kennedy later returns with Investigator Turner to seize cats, dogs, and birds from the property. Meanwhile, Chief Investigator Boller goes to examine one of the horses. He is shocked at the horse's poor condition and predicts that it probably won't make it. However, the other horse is in much better shape and will most likely recover. In court, all the animals are awarded to the HSPCA. Unfortunately, the weak horse later collapses, leaving the investigators with no choice but to put it down. Luckily, the rest of the animals, including the other horse, are later adopted. Surprisingly, the new owners discover that their newly adopted horse is related to many famous derby winners, including Man o' War. The former owner is arrested and convicted of animal cruelty. Her sentence is to serve thirty days in jail with photos of the horses posted around her cell, and she is only allowed to have bread and water for the first three days...
