America's Got Talent and Simon Cowell is determined to find it. Simon searches for the most talented person in a variety of categories including singing, dancing, comedy, and various novelty acts. Each of the contestants, chosen at casting calls around the nation, will have a chance to prove that they have talent in front of judges and America. The winner, chosen by viewers, will receive the opportunity to headline a showcase Las Vegas act and 1 Million Dollars!

With the talent search open to acts of all ages, America's Got Talent has brought the variety format back to the forefront of American culture by showcasing performers from across the country. The series is a true celebration of the American spirit, featuring a colorful array of singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians, ventriloquists and hopeful stars, all vying for their chance to win America's hearts and the $1 million prize.

America's Got Talent NBC's top-rated summer series from producer Simon Cowell's Syco Television and FremantleMedia North America, returns this summer with the hottest performers from across the country ready to compete in the blockbuster reality show's ninth season. Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel return as judges and Nick Cannon returns as host. The producers' auditions began on 26 October 2013 in Miami. Other audition sites were Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, & New York City. Contestants could also submit a video of their audition on line at nbc.com. Auditions for Season 9 in front of the Judges were held February 20 – 22 2014 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. Judges' auditions were held in New York City at Madison Square Garden April 3 - 6 & in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre April 21 - 26. (Source: NBC)

9x24: Finals: Top 6 (Performances) recap: Tonight the Top 6 acts still remaining in the competition performed live in hopes of being crowned the winner of Season 9 and also to win the 1 Million Dollar grand prize. On this final performance show of the year each contestant was required to perform 2 times tonight. They had to 1st redo something they had used in a previous performance and then they had to come up with one new performance. 9x23: Top 12 (Results) recap: The special guest that performed on the show tonight was Season 5 runner-up 14 year-old singer “Jackie Evancho”. We also saw “The Muppets” as Miss Piggy sang the big hit song by “The Weather Girls” in “It’s Raining Men” with Mel B & Heidi Klum. After their performance then Nick Cannon revealed what 3 acts were in trouble and could be going home and told the home audience that they had 30 minutes to save one of these 3 acts. They had to go to GOOGLE and that they could only vote one time for each GOOGLE account. The 3 acts that were announced as being in jeopardy of being sent home in no particular order were:

1. Emil and Dariel – Cellists
2. Miguel Dakota – Singer & guitarist (without his guitar again last night)
3. Sons of Serendip – Band of 4 members

The following 5 acts were voted into the Final round which is the Top 6 next week by the home audience in the order that they were announced:

1. Emily West – Singer
2. AcroArmy – Acrobats
3. Quintavious Johnson – Singer (12 years old)
4. Mat Franco - Close-up magician
5. Sons of Serendip – Band of 4 members (This act was saved by the extra voting with the “Snapple Save”)

The Judges selected the 6th and final act, which was between Emil and Dariel & Miguel Dakota. Heidi & Mel B bother voted & selected Emil and Dariel, Howie & Howard voted & selected Miguel Dakota. Since the 2 acts were tied with 2 votes each they had to go by the act that had received the most votes by the home viewers. Nick was handed a card and opened it up and revealed that Miguel Dakota had received more votes between the 2 acts and became the 6th and final act to move onto the finals. On next Tuesday’s night’s episode the final 6 acts will be performing in an attempt to become the winner of Season 6 & the $1 Million Dollars.
