Episode Quotes

President Logan: It's all gone wrong, none of this should've happened. All these killings. This whole thing was planned to make our country safer, stronger, to protect our interests. And it all spiralled out of control when you decided to kill David Palmer.
Christopher Henderson: Mr. President, what's done is done and right now we have to focus on stopping Bauer before he finds that recording.
President Logan: No. You have to focus on it.

Miles Papazian: We knew this wasn't going to be a seamless transition.
Karen Hayes: Sometimes I wonder if it was even a necessary one.
Miles Papazian: Karen, CTU's performance today has been considerably less than stellar - dozens of people have been killed and they weren't even able to prevent an attack on themselves.
Karen Hayes: Do you really believe under the circumstances that we could have done any better?

Karen Hayes: I don't like this. Pulling our resources on finding Christopher Henderson to go after Jack Bauer without knowing the evidence?
Miles Papazian: It's a direct order from the President.

Jack: You got your gun?
Wayne Palmer: Yeah... but we don't need them for this, do we?
Jack: He's not gonna let us into his bank in the middle of the night unless he thinks he has to.
Wayne Palmer: Jack, why don't we just try telling him the truth?
Jack: Would you believe it?

Vice President Hal Gardner: Well, as you've put me in charge of overseeing CTU and the Homeland Security transfer, don't you think you should've discussed it with me first?
President Logan: I appreciate everything you've done today, Hal but the last time I checked... I was still Commander in Chief.
Vice President Hal Gardner: Of course, Mr. President but Jack Bauer? It doesn't make any sense! We should be treating that man like a hero.

Martha Logan: What's wrong, Aaron?
Agent Aaron Pierce: I'm just a little battle worn.

Carl Mossman: There's no other way out, we'll have to turn ourselves in.
Jack: They didn't come here to arrest us, they came here to kill us!

Miles Papazian: (spotting Chloe coming out of the women's toilets) What were you doing?
Chloe: What?
Miles Papazian: What were you doing?
Chloe: (raises eyebrows) Are you kidding?! If you really want the details, I'll write you a report.

Jack: (to Audrey) You understand what this means? We're talking about taking down the President of the United States.
